Killer of 50 Lives: Karachi Operation Eliminates Notorious BLA Commander

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Sindh has claimed a significant operational success against the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) in Karachi, following a targeted operation in Shah Latif Town, Malir. The operation resulted in the death of four highly wanted militants, including a key BLA commander identified as Suheil Baloch, alias Gurk, associated with the banned group’s Al-Fatah squad.

According to CTD officials, the operation, which took place on 17 February 2026, was conducted after intelligence gathered from previously arrested militants revealed the location of a suspected militant hideout. During the raid, a fierce exchange of gunfire occurred, culminating in the elimination of four terrorists.

Three of the deceased were immediately identified, while the fourth was later confirmed through intelligence investigations as Suheil Baloch, alias Gurk, a notorious militant linked to Fitna Al Hindustan. Suheil Baloch had previously been associated with the Baloch Liberation Front before joining the BLA in 2022, where he operated as a senior commander.

CTD officials stated that Suheil Baloch was involved in planning and coordinating multiple high-profile terrorist operations. His responsibilities included managing militant communications, overseeing logistics and weapon supplies, and directing operational activities. He was also implicated in the assassination of Deputy Commissioner Panjgur, Zakir Baloch, in Khuzdar, and was linked to more than 50 killings of security personnel and civilians during various attacks.

Further intelligence revealed that Suheil Baloch commanded the Al-Fatah squad in the Bolan area and maintained direct contact with other senior militants, including Rehman Gul, Mulla Amin, and Dr. Makhu. He was also responsible for dispatching five suicide bombers for the Jafar Express attack. In addition to planning terrorist strikes, he reportedly participated in roadside checkpoints and looting operations.

CTD officials emphasized that the elimination of Suheil Baloch represents a major setback for the BLA terrorist network in Karachi. The operation is believed to have prevented a potential large-scale terrorist attack in the city, disrupting ongoing plans targeting civilians and security personnel.

This operation underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to dismantle militant networks and safeguard public safety in urban centers, highlighting the continuing threat posed by armed extremist groups in Pakistan.
