Lakki Marwat – Once again, innocent civilians were targeted by the Khawarij in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During a search operation by security forces in the Sarkati Machan Khel area of Lakki Marwat, the Fitna-e-Khawarij launched an attack on the forces, resulting in injuries to a soldier as well as a civilian, officials confirmed on Monday.
According to security sources, the clash erupted when members of the outlawed terrorist group, referred to as “Fitnah Al-Khwarij,” opened fire on the troops using both small and heavy weapons. The confrontation continued for several hours, with intense exchanges reported between the two sides.
In a strong statement, the security forces reiterated their previous warnings to local communities, urging them to support ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
“We have said it before, and we say it again—stand with your security forces. If you cannot support us, at the very least, keep these terrorists away from your homes and villages,” the statement read.
Officials cautioned that khwarij frequently use civilian homes and neighbourhoods as shields to launch attacks, putting innocent lives at risk and forcing the military to respond under challenging conditions.
“During combat, if you can’t evacuate your homes and villages, you must take responsibility for your own safety and property. These terrorists belong to no tribe, no nation, no faith—they are agents of chaos and destruction.”
Security forces reaffirmed their commitment to rooting out the threat, emphasising that any area harbouring terrorists will be treated as a potential threat zone during operations.
The injured have been moved to a nearby medical facility, and a search operation is ongoing in the region to flush out any remaining assailants.
