Khawarij Terror Bid Foiled as 18kg Bomb Defused in Lakki Marwat

Security forces narrowly averted a major tragedy after the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) defused an 18-kilogram improvised explosive device (IED) planted by the Khawarij in a residential area of Lakki city. According to police, the IED was expertly concealed along a dirt track in Machan Khel, where it had been planted with the intent to target security personnel. The device was rigged for maximum damage and could have caused catastrophic loss of life and property had it detonated.

“This was a meticulously planned act of terrorism by the Khawarij, aimed at destabilising the region,” said a police spokesperson. “Their cowardly attempt failed due to the swift response and professionalism of our bomb disposal team.”

The BDS successfully rendered the device safe, saving the city from what officials described as “imminent devastation.” Law enforcement agencies have since cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the perpetrators.

“The people of Lakki Marwat stand united against these enemies of peace. We will never allow such nefarious plots to succeed,” the spokesperson added. Authorities have tightened security across the district, reaffirming their resolve to crush the terror networks operating under the guise of Khawarij ideology.
