Khawarij Suicide Bombing in North Waziristan Injures 10, Including Women and Children

A suicide bombing carried out by the Khawarij near Tahir Chowk in the village of Khaddi, Tehsil Mirali, North Waziristan,  left ten civilians injured, including four women and five children, in one of the most disturbing attacks in recent months targeting a civilian population. According to initial reports, the blast occurred in a densely populated area and caused severe damage to nearby homes. Rescue teams and local authorities responded swiftly, evacuating the injured to a nearby hospital, where several victims remain in critical condition.

Medical officials have confirmed that emergency surgeries are underway, and efforts are being made to shift critically wounded individuals to advanced care facilities, if necessary. The district administration and law enforcement agencies immediately cordoned off the site and launched an investigation. Bomb disposal units and intelligence officials are working to trace the origin and facilitators of the attacker.

“This appalling attack on innocent civilians, especially women and children, reflects the inhumanity and ideological perversion of the Khawarij,” said a senior government official while speaking on condition of anonymity. “The state will respond with full force, and those behind this barbarity will be brought to justice.”

The incident has sparked grief and outrage across the region, which has witnessed a resurgence of targeted violence in recent months. Civil society representatives and tribal elders have condemned the attack, calling it an attempt to derail peace and instill fear among the local population.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far, but intelligence sources suspect the involvement of a banned militant outfit with a history of targeting civilians through suicide bombings.
