The outlawed Khawarij carried out yet another quadcopter drone attack on Miryan Police Station in Bannu, marking the fourth such strike in just one month. While no police personnel have been injured in any of the attacks so far, the repeated use of drone-delivered explosives has raised serious security concerns across the region.
In the third attack, two young passersby were wounded when explosives dropped from a quadcopter detonated near the police station. Security officials revealed that in at least two instances, the station’s solar power system was deliberately targeted and damaged by the aerial explosives. Sources said the series of attacks bear the signature of Khawarij groups attempting to sabotage law enforcement through technologically advanced tactics, including the use of modified commercial drones. In response, intelligence and counterterrorism units have ramped up surveillance operations and are working to trace the handlers and launching points behind the drone strikes.
