Sources say Terrorist of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP), or the Fitna al-Khawarij, shot and killed two unarmed civilians in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank and Bannu districts, leaving local communities shocked and fearful.
In Tank’s Mullazai police area, militants from the so-called Shaheen group, one of the banned TTP’s several factions, allegedly opened fire without provocation on a teenage boy in the village of Lakki Michan Khel.
The victim was identified as Mohammad Waseem, about 14–15 years old. Sources added the same group had previously murdered Waseem’s father, Subedar (retd.) Pasta Jan, two years ago and, just two months earlier, had killed his cousin Gul Zaman.
Separately, in Bannu’s Kurr (Kreer) area of Tehsil Safi, militants executed Nahid Shah son of Wasil. According to reports, Nahid had been kidnapped from his shop in Bannu market about a month ago; he was killed there late last night for reasons that remain unclear.
The twin killings have left residents of both areas distraught and anxious. Community leaders and citizens are calling on the government and security forces to launch a decisive operation to uproot these militant cells and prevent further unlawful killings.
Police authorities have not yet issued an official statement; investigations are ongoing and locals are urging swift action to restore safety and bring the perpetrators to justice.
