In a chilling act of violence, terrorists linked to the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), or the Fitna Al-Khawarij as declared by the state, stormed a house in the Sateen area of Central Kurram late last night and brutally shot dead three innocent local residents. The victims have been identified as Saddam, Noor Kamal, and Gul Hanan.

According to eyewitnesses and local sources, the heavily armed assailants entered the house under the cover of darkness and opened indiscriminate fire, killing all three men on the spot. The attack has sent shock-waves through the community, triggering fear and mourning.

Among the victims, Saddam was a respected tribal elder known for his active role in peace-building efforts. He had been instrumental in organising jirga (tribal council) aimed at fostering harmony between local communities and the military, and countering extremism in the region.

His leadership and peace-driven initiatives reportedly put him in the cross-hairs of terrorists who viewed his influence as a threat to their agenda. The other two victims, Noor Kamal and Gul Hanan, were also known as peaceful and respected members of the local community.

In the aftermath of the attack, security forces launched a search operation in and around the area to track down the perpetrators. The tragic incident has sparked outrage among residents, who have called on the state to take decisive action against Khawarij and deliver justice to the victims’ families.

The killings are being seen as a major blow to ongoing peace efforts in Kurram, a region that has long struggled with the threat of militancy. Grief and anger continue to grip the local population.
