In a disturbing development, three individuals were abducted by khawarij in the remote and rugged Tirah Valley of Khyber District. According to local sources, the incident took place in the village of Peer Mela, where the captives were forcibly taken and moved toward the volatile Tarey Chowk area, known to be a stronghold of terrorists.

The abducted men, reportedly from Peshawar, were in the region for small-scale business activities, selling herbal drinks, medicines, and other daily-use items. They had been operating from an Alto car and were seen in Peer Mela over the past several days.

Sources indicate that the abduction was carried out by members of a banned terrorist group, declared by the state as “Fitna al-Khawarij.” The men were quickly transferred to Tarey Chowk, a strategically sensitive location that has long served as a safe haven for terrorists.

The incident has triggered fear among local residents, with concerns over worsening security conditions in an already volatile area. No official statement has yet been issued by local authorities or security forces, but sources confirm that the matter has been reported to the relevant officials and recovery efforts are expected.

Tirah Valley has been a focal point of terror activity for years, and this latest abduction further compounds the region’s fragile security situation. Families of the abducted individuals and civil society members in Peshawar have called on the government to take immediate and decisive action to secure the release of the captives and restore peace in the region.

This incident underscores the persistent threat posed by khawarij in the tribal belt, highlighting the urgent need for stronger governance and security interventions in these neglected areas.
