Khariji Identified as Shakir Among Those Killed in Tirah Valley Clash with Security Forces

Tirah Valley, India-backed Fitnah al-Khawarij, security forces

One of the Khawarij killed during a fierce exchange of fire between security forces and India-backed Fitnah al-Khawarij in the remote Tirah Valley has been identified as Shakir, security sources confirmed on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, security forces carried out a targeted operation in the Khumbi Khel forest area after receiving intelligence about the movement of Khawarij formation led by commanders Adil Muawiya and Zubair Afghani. The operation resulted in the killing of three khawarij and injuries to four others.

According to sources, a local resident discovered the body of a slain khariji and handed it over to the security forces, who later identified him as Shakir, a known affiliate of the banned outfit.

Following the clash, a large-scale clearance operation was launched to eliminate any remaining threats in the area. Security personnel have intensified their search efforts amid concerns of regrouping by the khawarij in the rugged terrain.

The successful engagement is seen as part of a broader counter-terrorism campaign aimed at dismantling Fitnah al-Khawarij networks operating in Pakistan’s tribal belt, particularly in regions bordering Afghanistan.

Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining security and stability in the area and urged local communities to support ongoing operations by reporting suspicious activity.
