In a precisely executed intelligence-based operation (IBO), security forces struck a major Khawarij hideout near HBK Hypermarket on Peshawar’s Ring Road, eliminating four hardcore operatives of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), including the notorious commander Rauf Afridi, alias Ilyas Khoram. The operation, based on credible intelligence, targeted a site believed to be a strategic node in the Khawarij network operating in the region. A fierce exchange of fire ensued, during which all four Khawarij were neutralised. Among them, Rauf Afridi had recently surfaced in a viral video filmed outside a police station in Gujrat, Punjab—an incident that had raised alarms about the group’s expanding presence.
One soldier of the Frontier Corps (FC) sustained injuries during the encounter. His condition has been declared stable and out of danger by medical authorities. Security officials described the operation as a major breakthrough in the ongoing fight against the Khawarij, reaffirming their resolve to continue intelligence-driven strikes until the complete eradication of such elements from the country. “The message is clear—there will be no sanctuary for the Khawarij on Pakistani soil,” an official stated following the successful operation.
