Security forces in Mamdakhil Tehsil of Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, achieved a major counter-terrorism success by neutralizing a key commander of the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group along with six foreign militants during an intelligence-based operation.
The slain foreign commander has been identified as Maulvi Insafullah, whose real name was Ikramullah. He was directly involved in the brutal killing of the Assistant Commissioner (AC) of North Waziristan and had remained on the most-wanted list of law enforcement agencies for an extended period.
According to security sources, Maulvi Insafullah was a senior commander of the proscribed organization Jaish-ul-Tahrir Hind and maintained links with the Itihad-ul-Mujahideen network. He had been actively involved in planning and facilitating multiple terrorist attacks in the region, posing a sustained threat to public safety and security.
During the operation, two of Maulvi Insafullah’s close associates, foreign militants Ata-ur-Rehman and Abu Saleh, were also neutralized, while another foreign militant, Darwish, was apprehended in an injured condition while attempting to flee the scene.
The foreign militant network Itihad-ul-Mujahideen has officially confirmed the fatalities. Security forces are continuing clearance and search operations in the area to ensure the complete dismantling of any remaining terrorist facilitators or networks.
Officials reiterated that security forces will continue their operations against state-hostile elements without discrimination and remain fully committed to protecting the lives and property of the citizens.
The operation highlights the continued vigilance and operational capability of Pakistan’s security agencies in countering terrorism and ensuring law and order in sensitive regions.
