Key Khawarij Commander Killed in Security Operation in Peshawar’s Hassan Khel

In a major counter-terrorism success, security forces eliminated a key commander of the outlawed Khawarij network during an intelligence-based operation in the Hassan Khel area of Peshawar. The operation was carried out in the vicinity of Mir Samad Hujra in Bazaar Gai, where the Khawarij operative, identified as Tahir a resident of Merra Kachori, Urmar  was gunned down following a brief but decisive exchange of fire.

According to credible security sources, the slain Khawarij was closely linked to the notorious splinter group led by the proscribed commanders Khariji Asim and Usman. Tahir was wanted in multiple sabotage attacks and subversive activities targeting law enforcement and civilian installations in the region.

“Tahir had been on the watchlist for his involvement in a series of violent plots aimed at spreading chaos and fear,” said an official. “His elimination represents a significant blow to the operational reach of the Khawarij network operating in the outskirts of Peshawar.”

Security forces reiterated their unwavering commitment to dismantling all factions of the Khawarij through sustained intelligence-driven operations and affirmed that no safe haven would be allowed to exist for those attempting to destabilise peace in the province.

The operation reflects the enhanced coordination among intelligence and security agencies and marks another step forward in the ongoing efforts to restore lasting stability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
