Key Hideouts of Khawarij Targeted in South Waziristan; Several Killed and Injured

Security forces carried out a series of intelligence-based targeted operations on Sunday against Khawarij elements in multiple areas of South Waziristan, striking hideouts from where attacks had been launched last week resulting in the martyrdom of 12 soldiers of Pakistan Army.

According to initial reports, the operations targeted militant hideouts in Tangi Badinzai, Razin, Spin Meela, and Ladha. These locations had been serving as sanctuaries for Khawarij operatives, as well as smugglers and criminal networks who were extorting and harassing local residents.

During the strikes, heavy and light weaponry was employed to neutralize threats. Preliminary assessments confirm that 8–10 Afghan Khawarij were killed and 16–18 injured, though efforts are underway by the group to conceal the scale of their losses.

Security officials reiterated that operations will continue with full force until the last of the Khawarij is eliminated, underscoring the state’s resolve to restore peace and stability in the region.

The targeted hideouts were located in Tangi Badinzai, Razin, Spina Mela, and Ladha areas where Khawarij elements had long been harassing local populations and extorting money from villagers. Local residents provided crucial information about their activities, which led to the successful strikes.

Among those killed were:

1. Inayatullah

2. Zakir

3. Noor Hameem

4. Saeed Afghani

5. Khair alias Umar

6. Shakir alias Maulvi

Those injured included Ziauddin, Kasani (Afghan), Suhail alias Malangi Mama, Sagheer (Afghan), Shahi (Afghan), Maulvi Kari (Afghan), Sadiq (Afghan), Yousaf Kaka, Sagar Afghani, Watan Yar, Khairu, Zabiullah (Afghan), Zakaullah, and Sabir alias Mukhlis.

Officials said a significant number of Afghan nationals were among the casualties. Reports indicate that the Taliban are attempting to conceal the scale of the losses. Residents welcomed the action, noting that the Khawarij had long made life miserable for locals in the targeted villages. Authorities reiterated that operations will continue until peace is fully restored in the region.
