The 26th martyrdom anniversary of Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed, recipient of Nishan-e-Haider, is being observed today to honour his unmatched bravery and sacrifice in the Kargil War.
Senior military leadership, including Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, the Air Chief, Naval Chief, and the Pakistan Armed Forces, paid glowing tributes to the national hero.
Major General Anjum Riaz visited the martyr’s shrine and laid a floral wreath on behalf of the Pakistan Army.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Capt. Karnal Sher Khan stood like an unbreakable wall in the face of the enemy and laid down his life defending the motherland. His bravery remains a symbol of inspiration and courage for the armed forces and the entire nation.
The ISPR statement further added that his supreme sacrifice continues to live in the hearts of Pakistanis and serves as a guiding light for generations to come. “We salute our great hero and reaffirm our commitment to defend the homeland at all costs,” the statement concluded.
