Karachi – Three dangerous terrorists arrested from Korangi have made startling revelations during interrogation, exposing their deep involvement with the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also referred to as “Fitna Khawarij”, and their past involvement in multiple attacks on security forces.
According to a report published by Express News, one of the arrested militants, Inamullah, disclosed that his father had served in the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan and retired in 2010. Inamullah worked in various areas of Hub and Karachi until 2013, when he was recruited into TTP by a terrorist named Dost Muhammad. That same year, he met TTP commander Niaz Muhammad and pledged to join militant operations, subsequently receiving weapons training.
He revealed that in 2013, he crossed into Afghanistan via the Shawal border with several associates and received weapons and ammunition from Niaz Muhammad in the Sattah Kando area. Around 30–32 militants were present at the camp, led by a commander named Mullah Mansoor Afghani. During his stay in Afghanistan, Mansoor fought NATO forces for a month before returning to Pakistan.
After returning, Inamullah served as a guard for TTP commander Abdul Hameed. He admitted to participating in an attack on an FC check post in Waziristan in 2016, injuring three FC personnel. That same year, he was involved in another assault on an army post, which left two soldiers injured and one martyred.
Another arrested terrorist, Tayyab, confessed that he joined the TTP in August 2023 at the behest of a militant named Gul Noor. His brother, Abdul Razzaq, was killed during a security operation in their native village Mamokhel on 29 August 2023. Following this, TTP commander Abdul Hameed alias “Fikarmand” vowed to help avenge his brother’s death.
Tayyab underwent weapons training in Malagan in 2023 and carried out his first attack that same year on an army post in Jani Khel Fort, resulting in the martyrdom of one soldier and injuries to six others. In 2024, he targeted an army convoy in the Sina Tang mountains, injuring four soldiers. He also admitted to providing shelter and assistance to other TTP operatives hiding in Karachi.
The third suspect, Naeemullah, revealed that he worked as a helper at a garment factory in Korangi’s Mehran Town in 2017. Influenced by his father, a former TTP commander named Momin Khan, Naeemullah joined the banned group. His father had been active in the group from 2007 to 2018, during which he was involved in multiple crimes, including targeted killings, kidnappings for ransom, and attacks on security forces.
Naeemullah received militant training in Waziristan and, under the direction of commander Noor Zeb, attacked an army camp in Jani Khel in 2019, resulting in one martyr and three injuries. In 2020, he attacked the Pakistan Army’s Techi check post using heavy weaponry, injuring four soldiers. During retaliatory fire, his associates Karwan Afghani and Mansoor Afghani were also injured.
In June 2024, Naeemullah killed two neighbours in Bannu’s Jani Khel — Gul Meena and a man named Salaam. He also disclosed that his family home in Nakoori village, Bannu, was targeted by security forces with shelling in 2009 after they returned fire during a raid.
Due to his father’s militant record, Naeemullah’s CNIC was blocked, prompting him to obtain a new identity card using his grandfather Nazir Khan’s name. He confirmed that his father, Momin Khan, was killed in a 20 March 2018 encounter with security forces.
All three detainees confessed to providing names of 19 other TTP associates during interrogation. They had been working in Karachi’s Korangi garment factories at different times to evade arrest after conducting terror attacks.
According to sources, the arrested individuals were planning a major terror act in Karachi, which was thwarted by a swift operation from law enforcement agencies. A search for their remaining accomplices is ongoing.
