A joint operation by security forces and police is currently underway in various areas of Domel Tehsil, Bannu, aimed at dismantling militant networks and restoring peace and stability in the region. According to official sources, multiple militant hideouts, including those linked to a wanted militant commander, have been destroyed through controlled explosions during the operation. The action marks a significant step toward disrupting militant infrastructure and denying safe havens to armed elements operating in the area.
During the ongoing operation, the body of another militant was recovered and identified as Asim. In a separate incident, a burqa-clad militant was killed while attempting to flee during a police operation, highlighting the continued efforts of law enforcement agencies to neutralize threats and prevent escape.
Ensuring the safety of civilians remains a top priority. To facilitate the secure evacuation and movement of residents trapped in the affected areas, a jirga was convened involving Ahmadzai tribal elders, district administration officials, and security authorities. It was mutually agreed that civilians would be granted movement permissions as required, in line with operational and security considerations.
The Deputy Commissioner of Bannu assured that compensation will be provided to the families of those affected by the operation. According to official confirmation, three civilians were martyred and four others injured, and their families will receive financial assistance in accordance with government policy.
Security officials also called for the removal of wild vegetation in the area, citing its potential use as cover by militants. The Ahmadzai tribes were urged to play an active and responsible role in maintaining peace, ensuring stability, and assisting in clearing the area of militant remnants.
Tribal elders reaffirmed their commitment to peace and emphasized that all decisions concerning the area would be made through local jirga mechanisms, ensuring community participation and ownership in the restoration of normalcy.
Authorities reiterated that the operation will continue until all militant elements are eliminated and the area is fully secured. The administration, security forces, and local communities remain united in their resolve to uphold law and order and prevent any resurgence of militancy in Bannu.
