Joint Forces Action in Khyber: Militant Arrested After Gunfire Exchange

Security forces, in a coordinated action alongside police, apprehended a militant in injured condition during a joint operation launched on confirmed intelligence regarding militant presence in the Largo Pul area of Bara, district Khyber.

According to security sources, the operation was carried out in Largo Pul, located in Tehsil Bara of Khyber District. As security personnel moved to cordon off the suspected hideout, militants opened fire in an attempt to evade arrest.

Troops responded with a calibrated counter-fire response. Despite the sudden engagement, no casualties or material losses were reported among security forces.

During the exchange, one militant was wounded and subsequently taken into custody. He was identified as Infaq Khan, son of Zafarullah, a resident of the Regi area of Peshawar.

Weapons recovered from the arrested militant’s possession included a sub-machine gun and a pistol. The seized arms and the terrorist have been handed over to relevant authorities for further interrogation and legal proceedings.

Security officials indicated that follow-up operations, including search and sweep activities in adjoining pockets, remain underway to trace any facilitators or additional militant presence in the vicinity.
