Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), Allama Raghib Hussain Naeemi, has said that a new bloc of Islamic nations is forming as Muslim countries rally behind Pakistan’s stance against terrorism. He also welcomed the Afghan government’s recent declaration denouncing terrorist activities on Pakistani soil as illegitimate.
Allama Naeemi described the Afghan government’s position as a “positive and welcome development,” adding, “This clearly signals that Kabul no longer supports cross-border militancy and acknowledges the sanctity of Pakistan’s sovereignty.”
He further stated that internal divisions and power struggles have long prevented Afghanistan from achieving political stability, and praised recent statements by Afghan commanders distancing themselves from violent elements. “I fully endorse Commander Saeed’s remarks,” he said, referring to recent condemnations of insurgent activities in the region.
Allama Naeemi stressed that Pakistan’s decisive action against what he termed the “Fitna-al-Hindustan” a reference to perceived hostile agendas undermining regional unity has drawn support from key Islamic nations. “When Pakistan took a principled stand, brotherly countries such as Turkiye, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan responded by raising their voice alongside ours,” he said.
He described this alignment as the early foundation of a powerful and principled coalition. “We are witnessing the rise of a new Islamic bloc, one that is united against terrorism, committed to sovereignty, and grounded in shared values of peace and justice.”
The Council of Islamic Ideology, a constitutional body that advises the Pakistani government on matters of Islamic jurisprudence, plays a key role in shaping national discourse on religion and policy.
