Islamabad: Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to playing a balanced yet proactive role in seeking a peaceful and lasting resolution to tensions between the United States and Iran, as diplomatic engagement gathers pace in the capital.
According to the Foreign Office, an Iranian delegation has arrived in Islamabad to participate in key talks aimed at de-escalation, with Pakistan continuing its facilitation efforts between the two sides.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar expressed hope that the negotiations would remain constructive, emphasizing that Pakistan will continue to support all efforts aimed at achieving a durable and peaceful settlement.
He also reiterated Islamabad’s offer to facilitate dialogue between the two sides, underscoring Pakistan’s role as a bridge for diplomacy in a highly sensitive regional environment.
The Foreign Office stated that Pakistan remains firmly committed to reducing tensions and promoting sustainable peace, highlighting that the country has consistently advocated dialogue over confrontation.
It added that Pakistan, as a peace-loving nation, remains open to supporting all initiatives that seek the peaceful resolution of conflicts, with its diplomatic channels available to parties willing to engage in meaningful negotiations.
