IS-K Suicide Vest Manufacturing Facility Dismantled in Kabul Counter terrorism Operation

A major blow was dealt to the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) on Sunday evening as security forces destroyed a suicide vest and landmine manufacturing facility during a successful operation in Police District 15 (PD15) of Kabul city, neutralising two militants and seizing a large cache of explosives. According to sources, the intelligence based operation was carried out on the in the Qasaba area of PD15. The targeted facility was being used by ISKP operatives to manufacture suicide vests, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and other bomb making materials.

The sources confirmed that two ISKP members were killed during the raid. Security personnel also recovered a significant quantity of explosives, including suicide vests, landmines, detonators, remote-controlled devices, and other components used in assembling explosive devices. A Toyota Corolla, allegedly used for transporting these materials, was also impounded during the operation.

Intelligence assessments suggest that the facility had been actively producing explosive devices for use in coordinated attacks across various regions. The dismantling of the hideout is considered a significant setback to ISKP’s operational capabilities in the capital. The operation marks a continued effort by security forces to disrupt militant networks and prevent terror plots aimed at destabilising Kabul and its surrounding areas.
