The United States government has announced a $10 million reward for information regarding Iran’s newly appointed religious leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, along with about ten other senior Iranian military and security officials. The list of targeted individuals includes Ali Larijani, the head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, as well as Iran’s intelligence minister, interior minister, and several other high-ranking military figures.
This move forms part of ongoing U.S. efforts to hold Iranian leadership accountable amid escalating tensions in the region. U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth also stated that Mojtaba Khamenei was wounded during recent U.S. strikes. According to Hegseth, the leader’s statement issued on Thursday appeared only in written form, with no accompanying audio or video message, raising questions about his condition and ability to communicate publicly.
The announcement underscores heightened U.S. vigilance concerning Iran’s leadership and military apparatus, reflecting broader concerns about regional security and the potential for further escalation. U.S. authorities emphasized that any actionable intelligence regarding the targeted officials would be rewarded in accordance with established procedures.
The United States continues to monitor the situation closely, reiterating that these measures are part of a comprehensive approach to addressing threats and maintaining stability in the Middle East.
