Iran Executes Convicted Mossad Agent for Espionage Against National Security

The Islamic Republic of Iran on Sunday executed Ismail Fikri, a convicted Mossad agent, after the Supreme Court upheld his death sentence for engaging in espionage activities on behalf of the Israeli intelligence agency. The execution marks a decisive action against what authorities described as one of the most serious intelligence breaches in recent years. According to official statements, Fikri was apprehended during a meticulously coordinated counterintelligence operation while actively collaborating with Mossad. Iranian intelligence agencies revealed that he had transmitted highly classified information — including the coordinates of critical security installations, military command centers, and profiles of key individuals — to Israeli handlers using encrypted communication platforms.

The investigation established that Fikri operated under the direct guidance of two Mossad officers. On their instructions, he reportedly established secure communication infrastructure and opened a cryptocurrency wallet to receive covert payments for his services. Authorities emphasized that these actions posed a grave threat to Iran’s national security and the safety of its armed forces.

Iranian state media described the operation leading to Fikri’s arrest as a significant counter-espionage success, foiling what officials said was a broader Israeli effort to infiltrate the country’s strategic institutions. “This individual was a central link in a hostile intelligence chain, and his betrayal of the nation will serve as a stern warning to all who seek to endanger our sovereignty,” a senior intelligence official stated.

The judiciary reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy toward espionage, particularly for agents working on behalf of hostile foreign powers. “The verdict was issued after a thorough judicial process, in full accordance with the law and based on irrefutable evidence,” the official statement read.

The execution of Ismail Fikri underscores the Islamic Republic’s unwavering resolve to defend its national security and sends a clear message to foreign intelligence agencies: acts of espionage against Iran will be met with the severest consequences.
