Intelligence-Based Operations Eliminate 11 Foreign-Sponsored Terrorist in KP: ISPR

In a series of highly coordinated counter-terrorism operations, 11 extremists affiliated with Indian-supported Khawarij groups were neutralized by Pakistan’s security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported today.

According to ISPR, two separate intelligence-based operations were conducted on January 8, 2026, in North Waziristan and Kurram districts, targeting foreign-backed militants involved in terrorism, target killings, and other subversive activities against civilians, law enforcement, and state institutions.

In the first operation in North Waziristan, security forces responded swiftly to credible intelligence regarding militant hideouts. During the intense exchange of fire, six extremists were successfully eliminated, and their positions were effectively neutralized without collateral damage to civilians.

Simultaneously, a joint operation in Kurram District, conducted collaboratively by police and security forces, resulted in the neutralization of five additional militants following a controlled engagement with hostile elements.

Recovered from the deceased extremists were weapons and ammunition, confirming their involvement in multiple terrorist acts, including planned attacks against security personnel and innocent civilians. These operations demonstrate Pakistan’s proactive approach in dismantling networks that threaten regional peace and stability.

ISPR emphasized that clearance operations are ongoing across the region to ensure the elimination of any remaining foreign-sponsored extremist presence. These actions form part of the broader National Action Plan (NAP) and align with the federally approved “Azm-e-Istihkam” strategy, under which security forces and law enforcement agencies continue their relentless campaign against terrorism until the complete eradication of foreign-backed militant elements.

Through sustained intelligence-driven operations, Pakistan’s security forces have reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring peace, stability, and public safety across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the wider region.

These decisive actions send a clear message: Pakistan will continue to dismantle cross-border terrorism and neutralize all threats to its sovereignty, citizens, and security forces.
