Security forces carried out a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Bakkakhel area of Bannu, targeting hideouts of Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists, dealing a decisive blow to terrorist elements operating in the region.
During the operation, security forces engaged the terrorists in a fierce exchange of fire, resulting in the elimination of 12 to 14 terrorists. The operation was launched on the basis of credible and actionable intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists involved in multiple acts of violence and threats to peace and stability.
According to security sources, Sadiq Ullah, a key commander of Fitna al-Khawarij, is reported to be among those killed in the operation. However, authorities have stated that formal confirmation of his death is currently in progress and will be announced upon completion of verification and identification procedures.
The operation underscores the continued resolve of security forces to dismantle terrorist networks, eliminate their infrastructure, and prevent any attempt to undermine national security. Clearance and sanitization operations are ongoing to ensure the area is completely secured and any remaining terrorist presence is neutralized.
