Insiders Exposed: Two Terrorists in Uniform Nabbed in Kohat

In a major breakthrough, District Police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Kohat arrested two key terrorists of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), aka Fitna al-Khawarij, in a joint operation, officials revealed in a press conference on Monday.

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Abbas Majeed Marwat, accompanied by DPO Dr. Zahidullah and SP CTD Saadat Khan, disclosed that both suspects were active facilitators of the outlawed group — and shockingly, serving personnel within security institutions.

One of the arrested, Siraj, was a constable in the District Police, while the other, Fareedoon, was serving in the CTD.

According to police, during interrogation, the suspects confessed to plotting multiple terrorist attacks during the Islamic month of Muharram. Planned targets included high-ranking police officials, the Police Lines Mosque, the CTD Police Station, and other government buildings. The suspects also admitted to planning attacks on religious processions.

The RPO confirmed that a 15-day physical remand has been secured for further investigation, and the accused have confessed to their involvement. A large-scale operation is underway to dismantle their wider network and locate additional facilitators.

Police officials say the timely action prevented a potentially devastating tragedy in the region.
