Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) late Sunday night, prompting a strong and effective response from the Pakistan Army that silenced the Indian guns, security sources said on Monday.
According to the sources, Indian troops carried out ceasefire violations at multiple locations, targeting Pakistani military posts without any provocation. The firing incidents were reported in several key sectors including Nikial, Khuiratta, Sharda, Keil, Neelum, and Hajipir.
In response, the Pakistan Army retaliated with full force, effectively neutralising the Indian aggression and compelling their forces to cease fire. “Our troops responded with precision and intensity in all affected sectors,” the sources said, adding that the Pakistan Armed Forces remain fully prepared to respond to any form of aggression.
Tensions between the two neighbouring countries have escalated following the recent killing of 26 Indian tourists in the occupied valley of Pahalgam. In the wake of the incident, India has taken a series of provocative measures, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty—steps which Pakistan has countered with a firm diplomatic and strategic response.
The security establishment reaffirmed that Pakistan’s military remains ever-vigilant and stands ready to respond decisively to any act of hostility along the border.
