Indian Media Accused of Twisting Jaffar Express Incident to Fuel Anti-Pakistan Agenda

Pakistan has strongly condemned the Indian media’s latest wave of baseless and malicious propaganda surrounding the recent Jaffar Express incident, calling it a desperate attempt to divert attention from India’s deepening internal crises, communal violence, and rising political instability.

According to official sources, a few carriages of the Jaffar Express derailed after an explosion on the railway track, resulting in minor injuries to some passengers. Rescue and railway officials responded promptly, ensuring swift restoration of operations and public safety. However, instead of reporting facts responsibly, Indian media outlets launched a smear campaign, attempting to portray the incident as a sign of Pakistan’s failure and turning a localised technical issue into a politically charged narrative.

Analysts have observed that India’s so-called “godi media” widely seen as aligned with the ruling establishment has once again resorted to spreading fabricated stories against Pakistan. They said the orchestrated disinformation campaign is aimed at distracting the Indian public from growing domestic unrest, religious extremism, and widespread protests challenging the government’s policies.

Security experts noted that this is not the first time the Indian media has attempted to manipulate facts regarding Pakistan. The same tactic was evident after the March 11 terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express, when Indian outlets sensationalized the incident to malign Pakistan internationally. Such deliberate distortion of facts, they said, exposes the nexus between Indian propaganda machinery and hostile elements working to destabilize Pakistan.

Officials in Islamabad reiterated that Pakistan has, on multiple occasions, presented irrefutable evidence at international forums linking India and its intelligence networks to subversive and terrorist activities aimed at undermining Pakistan’s peace and development. The latest disinformation campaign, they stressed, is part of India’s broader strategy to malign Pakistan’s image while concealing its own failures in maintaining internal harmony and regional peace.

“Indian media’s irresponsible conduct once again demonstrates its role as a propaganda tool rather than a professional press,” a senior official remarked, adding that Pakistan remains committed to exposing such deceitful tactics before the international community.

Observers believe that India’s continued efforts to project Pakistan negatively not only violate journalistic ethics but also undermine the region’s prospects for peace and cooperation. Pakistan, they emphasized, will continue to confront such disinformation campaigns with truth, transparency, and evidence-based engagement.
