Security Forces killed five Indian-backed Khwarij during an intelligence based operation in the general area of Khar, Bajaur district, the Inter Services Public Relations said on Monday.
According to an ISPR statement, the operation was conducted on December 29, 2025, following reports about the presence of Khwarij belonging to Indian proxy group Fitna al-Khwarij. During effective engagement by the troops, five militants were neutralised.
ISPR said that during an intense exchange of fire, Major Adeel Zaman, 36, a resident of Dera Ismail Khan district, embraced shahadat while leading his troops from the front. The statement said the officer fought gallantly and made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants, who, according to ISPR, were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities against Security Forces and law enforcement agencies, as well as in the killing of innocent civilians.
The military’s media wing said sanitisation operations were underway to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored Khwarij in the area. ISPR added that the relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm e Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace to eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
