Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has warned that the possibility of fresh Indian aggression cannot be ruled out, but asserted that any misadventure by New Delhi will be met with a powerful and resolute response from Pakistan, with consequences reverberating far beyond the region.
Speaking with a media platform, Khawaja Asif said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi finds himself politically cornered and stripped of his credibility, which could push him toward reckless adventurism. “Modi is politically bankrupt and isolated. In this state of desperation, he may attempt something dangerous — but if he does, Pakistan will retaliate forcefully. The world will feel the impact,” Asif warned.
The Defence Minister said any fresh Indian aggression would only further isolate it globally. “If Modi makes another aggressive move, the world will not stand with him. Even India’s closest allies will hesitate to defend such belligerence,” he remarked.
Referring to the recent ceasefire, Asif clarified that Pakistan acted out of strategic wisdom, not under international pressure. “There was no external pressure on us. The United States and other friendly nations were aligned with us. It was their consensus in favour of peace that led us to opt for a ceasefire,” he explained.
He said Pakistan waited four days before responding, hoping India would show restraint. “We gave India a chance to act sensibly. But our eventual response exposed India’s vulnerabilities on multiple fronts,” he said. “This was the first conflict in which cyber warfare played a pivotal role — and India’s entire digital infrastructure was left paralysed.”
Highlighting Pakistan’s military successes, the Defence Minister said: “We downed five Indian fighter jets and destroyed a UAV. The world now sees us with newfound respect. Those who once dismissed Pakistan now recognise its strength.”
He added that India’s grudging willingness to engage on the Kashmir dispute is itself a diplomatic victory for Pakistan. “For decades, India avoided talks on Kashmir. Now, even if reluctantly, it is ready to discuss the issue — this is a clear testament to Pakistan’s strategic and moral ascendancy,” Asif concluded.
