In a fresh diplomatic escalation, India has declared a Pakistani diplomat “persona non grata” and ordered him to leave the country within 24 hours. The move has prompted Pakistan to consider retaliatory measures, heightening tensions between the two neighboring nations.

According to India’s Ministry of Home Affairs, the Pakistani diplomat was accused of engaging in activities deemed inconsistent with his diplomatic status. India’s Ministry of External Affairs has summoned the Pakistani Charge d’Affaires to deliver a formal diplomatic protest, known as a “demarche.”

Diplomatic sources have confirmed that Pakistan is now contemplating a reciprocal response. Reports suggest that Islamabad is likely to declare an Indian diplomat persona non grata and expel him from the country within the next 24 hours. Furthermore, Pakistan is expected to summon India’s Charge d’Affaires for a demarche in response to the incident.

This diplomatic row follows a similar incident just last week, when India expelled another Pakistani diplomat under similar accusations. At that time, Pakistan’s Charge d’Affaires was also summoned and given a demarche in protest.

As tensions between India and Pakistan rise, both sides appear to be on the brink of further retaliatory actions, fueling concerns over the fragile state of bilateral relations.
