India Evading Probe into Pahalgam Attack, Baseless Allegations Can’t Divert Attention from India’s Failures: PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday demanded that India respond to Pakistan’s offer for an investigation into the Pahalgam incident, stating that New Delhi’s baseless propaganda cannot obscure its own failures or implicate Pakistan without evidence.

Speaking during a meeting with the Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Mehmet Paçacı, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan would welcome Türkiye’s participation in any credible and transparent investigation into the incident. He reaffirmed that Pakistan is ready to fully cooperate with an impartial international inquiry aimed at uncovering the truth.

“India has failed to produce a shred of evidence linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam attack, yet it continues its malicious campaign to malign our country,” Shehbaz Sharif said, adding that India’s actions are nothing more than a desperate attempt to distract from its internal security lapses and to sabotage regional peace.

Despite India’s provocative behavior following the incident, the Prime Minister stated, Pakistan has acted with restraint and responsibility. “Pakistan has always condemned terrorism in all its forms. No nation has suffered more than we have — over 90,000 lives lost and more than $152 billion in economic damage,” he noted.

He said India’s attempts to link Pakistan to the incident are part of a broader, dangerous agenda aimed at derailing regional counter-terrorism cooperation and justifying its aggressive posture. “These tactics will not succeed. Pakistan’s focus remains firmly on economic revival and sustainable development, which require peace and stability in the region.”

“India must respond to our offer for a joint investigation if it truly seeks the truth. Running from the facts only raises further questions about its intentions,” the Prime Minister added.
