A terror plot was foiled in Nushki after police, acting on public information, cordoned off an area near Abu Zar Mosque in Qaziabad and recovered suspicious explosive material before it could cause harm.

According to police officials, the alert was received regarding the presence of suspected improvised explosive material in the vicinity of the mosque. Responding swiftly, a heavy police contingent reached the site, secured the perimeter, and instructed residents to maintain a safe distance as precautionary measures were enforced.

Search operations were immediately launched, while the Bomb Disposal Squad was summoned to examine and neutralize the device in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Authorities said no casualties or property damage were reported in the initial assessment, adding that the situation remained under close monitoring until full clearance of the area.

Police officials emphasized that the timely sharing of information by citizens played a decisive role in preventing potential loss of life. They urged the public to remain vigilant, avoid spreading unverified information, and continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies.

Officials reiterated that protecting citizens’ lives and property remains their foremost priority, noting that public trust and cooperation significantly enhance operational effectiveness and response speed.

The development comes amid heightened counterterrorism operations, with Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1 being recently concluded, across Balochistan, particularly in and around Nushki, where security forces have recently dismantled militant networks, recovered sophisticated weaponry, and eliminated multiple terrorists, as well as their facilitators, linked to externally backed outfits. Security officials say such sustained pressure has increased militant reliance on covert and improvised attack methods, which, however, continue to be disrupted through public vigilance and coordinated security action.
