In a significant development highlighting regional coordination, over 800 Afghan families have returned to their homeland from Pakistan and Iran in the past 24 hours, according to the Taliban-controlled Bakhtar News Agency.

The report states that Afghan returnees entered the country through multiple key border crossings, including Torkham, Spin Boldak, Angoor Ada, and Bahramcha along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. These crossings have been instrumental in managing the increasing flow of returnees in recent weeks.

In addition to the Pakistan routes, approximately 447 families returned via the Islam Qala border crossing with Iran.

The rise in returns comes amid stepped-up measures by both Pakistan and Iran to regularize undocumented migrants and ensure secure, lawful border movement. Pakistan has emphasized its commitment to facilitating safe and dignified repatriation in coordination with Afghan authorities and humanitarian partners.
