How Did Sindh Rangers Foil Major Terror Plots in 2025 Nationwide?

The Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) successfully conducted a highly active year in 2025, carrying out a wide range of operations to maintain law and order, counter terrorism, and curb criminal and smuggling activities across Karachi and other districts of Sindh. According to official sources, the Rangers undertook 672 operations against terrorism, targeted killings, kidnappings for ransom, and extortion, achieving most of their objectives with precision and professionalism.

During these operations, 227 high-profile suspects were apprehended and handed over to police and other law enforcement agencies. In cooperation with the police, the Rangers conducted 58 joint operations against criminals in the Kacha areas, arresting 146 suspects involved in violent and organized crime. Furthermore, the Rangers carried out 3,413 operations against robbery, street crime, drug trafficking, and organized criminal networks, demonstrating their commitment to safeguarding public security.

The Rangers also undertook extensive anti-smuggling operations, seizing goods worth 8 billion rupees. Efforts to combat illegal water hydrants and water theft resulted in the demolition of 32 hydrants, 59 illegal borewells, 460 unauthorized water connections, and the seizure of 88 water tankers, with 113 suspects placed in custody.

Under the Prime Minister’s Special Task Force, Rangers conducted 34 operations against illegal encroachments, returning 157 acres of land from Karachi Port Trust and Port Qasim Authority to the relevant authorities, with an estimated value of 94 billion rupees.

In anti-terrorism operations, Rangers executed 598 missions, arresting 126 terrorists, including notorious figures such as Inamullah alias Lala, Naeemullah alias Umar Zali, Muhammad Tayyab alias Muhammad (Fata-ul-Khawarij/Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group), Abdul Rehman alias Abdullah alias Charlie (BLA), and Allah Khan alias Abdullah Mehsud (Fitna-al-Khawarij/Noor Wali Abu Asim Group). All terrorists were handed over to police for further legal proceedings.

Rangers also made significant progress against kidnappings for ransom, capturing 11 abduction suspects, including Wasim, Nixon Masih, and a group arrested near Mazar-e-Quaid, comprising Aamir Ali, Bilal Ali, Faisal Rana, Gulzar Shahbaz, and group leader Muhammad Nauman. All were transferred to police custody.

In anti-narcotics operations across Karachi and interior Sindh, Rangers seized 468.42 kg of hashish, 14.48 kg of heroin, 193.364 kg of ice/crystal meth, and 3.753 kg of opium, handing them over to the relevant authorities. During various smuggling crackdowns, Rangers confiscated 1.2 million liters of Iranian fuel and 31 vehicles, arresting 41 suspects, all of whom were transferred to customs authorities for further legal action. The estimated value of the seized Iranian fuel alone exceeds 300 million rupees.

In addition to law enforcement operations, the Sindh Rangers ensured foolproof security for public events, including the Pakistan Super League (PSL), visits by foreign cricket teams, and various religious festivals across Karachi and other districts, demonstrating their continuous commitment to public safety.
