In a major breakthrough, security agencies in Balochistan have uncovered a sophisticated terrorist network linked to the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) while thwarting a large-scale terror plot in the provincial capital. The operation revealed that the network was being facilitated by a government employee from the Health Department, identified as Roshan, alias Zakir, who had been secretly providing logistical and operational support to militants.
Sources indicate that Roshan had been under surveillance for some time due to suspicious activities. Investigators discovered that he had been using his position within the Health Department as a cover to transport militants, provide logistical assistance, and conduct reconnaissance on sensitive locations. Security forces raided the network just as the group was finalizing plans for a major sabotage operation in Quetta, aimed at causing widespread fear and disruption.
During the operation, authorities recovered large quantities of modern weapons, explosives, and IED-making materials, along with detailed maps of government and security offices across the city. Preliminary investigations indicate that the network had planned suicide attacks and targeted assassinations to destabilize the provincial capital.
Officials confirmed that Roshan provided key intelligence during interrogation, including the identities of several other facilitators embedded within government institutions. Based on this information, security agencies have launched a province-wide crackdown to identify and neutralize any additional operatives working within state departments.
This operation underscores the complex threats posed by militant networks operating within civilian institutions and highlights the vigilance of Balochistan’s security apparatus in protecting the province’s administrative and civic infrastructure. Authorities have emphasized continued monitoring and preventive action to thwart future threats and ensure the safety of Quetta and surrounding areas.
