A prestigious “Guard of Honor” ceremony was held to honor Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who has been appointed as Pakistan’s first Chief of Defence Forces (CDF). The event took place at the General Headquarters (GHQ), showcasing the highest military traditions and paying tribute to the newly appointed CDF.
During the ceremony, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who holds the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) and Hilal-e-Jurat, and also serves as the Chief of Army Staff, was presented with the Guard of Honor by troops representing all three branches of Pakistan’s Armed Forces Army, Navy, and Air Force. This event marks the first time in Pakistan’s history that the Chief of Army Staff, appointed as the Chief of Defence Forces, has been saluted by a joint ceremonial contingent of all three services.
The ceremony was attended by senior military officials, including the Chief of Naval Staff, the Chief of Air Staff, and other high-ranking officers. The distinguished honor guard rendered a general salute to the guest of honor, reflecting the highest level of respect and military protocol.
This historic occasion celebrates Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s appointment as Pakistan’s first-ever Chief of Defence Forces, symbolizing unity among the three services and Pakistan’s commitment to excellence in its military leadership.
