Police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported two separate attacks targeting law enforcement personnel, resulting in one officer martyred and another injured.
In Hangu, an unknown group fired at a police van during routine patrols in the jurisdiction of Thana Saddar. One constable sustained injuries and was immediately transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. DPO Hangu Khan Zeb Khan confirmed that the firing originated from a nearby hillside. Security forces quickly cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
Meanwhile, in the Miryai area of Dera Ismail Khan, Head Constable Ikramullah Gandapur was shot dead. Following the attack, police tightened security measures and initiated a formal investigation into the incident.
Authorities emphasized that comprehensive steps are being taken to maintain law and order, and those responsible for both incidents are expected to be apprehended swiftly.
