In a concerning escalation, unidentified armed men abducted three trailers belonging to an oil and gas company along with six to seven drivers near Mandan Baka Khel area of Bannu district, local sources confirmed on Monday.

According to preliminary reports, the trailers were transporting valuable equipment when they were intercepted and forcibly taken away to an unknown location. The drivers, who were on duty at the time, have also been missing since the incident.

Security officials have launched an investigation, and efforts are underway to trace the abducted vehicles and personnel. Police sources say various leads are being pursued to determine the identity and motive of the perpetrators.

This is not the first such incident in the region. The same oil and gas company has reportedly faced similar abductions of its equipment-laden vehicles in the past, raising concerns over the security of industrial convoys operating in volatile areas.

The Bannu region has historically witnessed incidents of abductions for ransom and terror activity, and this latest episode has once again sent shock-waves through the local transport and industrial community.

As of now, no group has claimed responsibility, and authorities have not received any ransom demand or communication from the abductors.

The local administration, along with security and intelligence agencies, is actively pursuing the case, but no official statement has been issued yet.
