During a police search operation in the Ahmadi Banda area of Karak, unknown assailants opened fire on law enforcement near Nishapa, injuring two police officers. The wounded officers were quickly shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for medical treatment.
Following the attack, the suspects fled towards nearby mountains. In response, heavy contingents of police and security forces arrived at the scene, and a gun battle between the security forces and the militants is currently underway.
According to RPO Abbas Majid Marwat, the operation is a continuation of efforts launched after a deadly terrorist attack last night in Banda Daud Shah, where three officers, including an SHO, were martyred. Search operations have been ongoing in the area since early morning.
