Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has expressed grave concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the province, warning that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s recent statements pose a direct threat to national security and undermine state policy. He urged the Pakistan Army to play a decisive role in restoring peace and stability in the region.
In a statement issued from the Governor House, Kundi said the worsening security environment in KP demands serious attention, but the provincial government continues to treat the matter with alarming indifference. “The chief minister’s remarks regarding Afghan refugees are not only irresponsible but also a clear deviation from the country’s official stance. Such statements weaken the national narrative and jeopardize internal security,” he remarked.
Kundi called upon the Chief of Army Staff to take notice of the security vacuum in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and play a vital role in ensuring peace. “The Pakistan Army has always played a pivotal role in the fight against terrorism, and its leadership is crucial at this juncture,” he said.
The governor also strongly endorsed the Army Chief’s recent statement regarding overseas Pakistanis. “Overseas Pakistanis are our pride, and I fully support the stance of the Army Chief on this matter,” he added.
Taking aim at PTI, Kundi said the party’s agenda is limited to creating political unrest and spreading baseless allegations, instead of addressing real issues like terrorism and instability. “The time has come for all institutions and political leadership to unite for the sake of national security,” he stressed.
He reiterated his complete support for the policies of the federal government, saying that responsible governance and coordination between institutions are essential to counter the rising security threats in the province.
