In a high-level meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, the federal and provincial leadership, along with military and civilian representatives, reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism, exposing perpetrators of recent attacks, and strengthening Pakistan’s national narrative, sources said.
The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s House, was attended by representatives from all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan. It was resolved that every possible effort would be made to expose those responsible for the Jaffer Express attack on the international stage.
The participants decided to launch a strong and coordinated response against anti state propaganda, ensuring that hostile narratives whether on traditional or digital media are effectively countered. Under the National Action Plan, the leadership agreed to reinforce the national narrative and directed the National Narrative Committee to formulate a robust strategy against terrorism and subversive elements.
It was further resolved that any content undermining national security and stability would be strictly dealt with. The meeting emphasized enhancing inter provincial cooperation to safeguard national harmony.
To counter extremist ideologies and effectively communicate the national stance to the youth, the participants agreed that films and dramas should incorporate national themes, with all four provinces committing to this initiative. Additionally, digital media platforms will be utilized to amplify the national narrative.
The meeting also decided to raise awareness about the socio economic impact of terrorism and implement measures to curb misinformation and fake news on social media. The leadership resolved to counter deepfake technology and other deceptive content with verified and authentic information.
Furthermore, it was agreed that the national curriculum would include awareness programs on terrorism to educate future generations about its consequences.
The meeting reinforced the government’s determination to take decisive action against terrorism, ensure national security, and maintain a unified response against threats to Pakistan’s stability.
