Four policemen were injured when unidentified assailants opened fire on a police patrol vehicle near the Keti Das check post within the jurisdiction of Naran Police Station. According to officials, the incident occurred while a police party from the Keti Das check post was patrolling the area. Unidentified gunmen, hiding in the surrounding mountains, ambushed the vehicle and opened indiscriminate fire. The policemen retaliated, leading to an exchange of gunfire during which four personnel sustained injuries.
Rescue teams of the Kaghan Development Authority and Rescue 1122 reached the spot and shifted the injured to Naran Hospital. After receiving initial medical aid, the wounded policemen were referred to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital in Mansehra for specialized treatment. Soon after the attack, heavy contingents of police rushed to the site and launched a search operation in the surrounding mountainous terrain. The authorities confirmed that police in Chilas were also taken on board, and joint checkpoints and cordons were established to track down the perpetrators.
Officials said the situation remained tense, and efforts were underway to trace and arrest the attackers.
