Pakistani security sources report that four civilians were killed after mortar fire from Afghan forces struck a residential area in Leti (Tari Pasha), located along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Bajaur District.
Local sources said a mortar shell fired from across the border hit a house, killing all four occupants instantly. The victims—identified as Sajid, Ayaz, Riaz, and Moaz—were brothers.
Security officials confirmed that, following setbacks against Pakistani forces, Afghan Taliban elements have increasingly targeted civilian areas along the border. Several mortar rounds were reported to have fallen in and around Salarzai.
In the same incident, one person was seriously injured and was immediately transferred to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Officials noted that the attacks have caused anger and unrest among local residents of Bajaur, while Pakistan’s armed forces continue to respond firmly to the cross-border aggression, targeting militant positions to prevent further civilian casualties.
