A surrendered Khawarij commander, Sarfaraz Bangulzai, has made explosive revelations exposing the direct role of enemy intelligence agencies in financing and strengthening the proscribed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) to fuel chaos and anti-state violence in Pakistan.
In a detailed confessional statement, Bangulzai revealed that foreign agencies have been providing sustained funding, training, and logistical support to the BLA, enabling it to carry out terrorist attacks and malign the state through disinformation campaigns. “These groups stage violent acts themselves and then blame the state to turn public opinion against Pakistan,” he said, describing the tactic as a deliberate attempt to “manufacture hatred and sympathy” for terrorist outfits.
Bangulzai admitted that on several occasions, the BLA engineered attacks on civilians and security forces, only to falsely attribute them to the government in order to shape a deceptive narrative for domestic and international consumption. “Such incidents are orchestrated to manipulate emotions and portray terrorists as victims, while the truth is the opposite,” he stated.
The surrendered militant further disclosed that leaders of these outlawed groups living abroad maintain regular contact with hostile intelligence agencies, from whom they receive financial assistance and operational directives. “They use foreign platforms and connections to spread propaganda, fund operations, and sustain the campaign of terror inside Pakistan,” he added.
According to Bangulzai, these externally sponsored networks systematically target vulnerable youth, exploiting ethnic and social grievances to recruit and radicalise them under false pretenses of nationalism. “They deceive the youth through fabricated slogans, emotional exploitation, and anti-state lies,” he said, noting that the purpose is to destabilise Pakistan from within.
He further pointed out that anti-state propagandists abroad manipulate social media and foreign media outlets to distort facts and malign state institutions, even when the evidence of BLA’s own involvement in violence becomes undeniable. “Their entire movement rests on deceit, bloodshed, and external patronage,” he remarked.
Security officials described Bangulzai’s statement as yet another confirmation of the deep nexus between foreign intelligence agencies and Khawarij elements operating under the BLA banner, calling it a clear case of hybrid warfare aimed at Pakistan’s internal peace and cohesion.
