Five Terrorists Neutralised After CTD Ambush Sparks Eight-Hour Operation in Bannu

Five terrorits  were killed in an intelligence-based joint clearance operation that lasted nearly eight hours in Bannu’s Domail area, after armed attackers ambushed a Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) vehicle at Hilal Chowk and subsequently took refuge inside a nearby residence.

According to the CTD, the militants opened fire on a CTD vehicle in Hilal Chowk before fleeing to a house in the locality. Security forces cordoned off the area, after which the attackers offered fierce resistance and killed two local residents inside the home where they had taken shelter.

The CTD said that CTD personnel, police and security forces launched a coordinated clearance operation that continued for several hours and resulted in the killing of all five militants involved in the assault. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.

One of the militants was identified as Rasool, known by the alias Commander Ariana, while efforts were under way to establish the identities of the remaining individuals, the CTD added.
