On June 30, an improvised explosive device (IED) blast targeted a security forces vehicle in the Zarozai area of Musakhel district, a remote region in northeastern Balochistan. The incident occurred while a convoy of two vehicles was moving from Murgha Kibzai Post toward Musakhel as part of a routine operation.
The explosion struck one of the vehicles, leaving five personnel injured, three of them critically. The convoy was part of a unit responsible for maintaining security in the region, which has seen sporadic violence in recent years due to ongoing unrest.
Injured personnel include:
-
Subedar Shehbaz
-
Naik Nabi
-
Sepoy Umaid Ali
-
Sepoy Sajjad
All injured soldiers were evacuated to a nearby medical facility for immediate treatment. Authorities have launched an investigation and a search operation is underway in the area to locate those responsible.
The attack highlights the persistent security challenges in parts of Balochistan, where such incidents pose risks to both security forces and civilians. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
