Fitna Al-Khwarij Terrorists Set Up Checkpoints, Kidnap Two in Mianwali District

In a troubling display of terrorist activity, Fitna Al-Khwarij (FAK) terrorists, a title arguably given by the state to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), set up multiple checkpoints across Mianwali District on April 16, 2025, leading to the abduction of two local residents.

Around 5:30 pm, a group of 10-12 armed militants established a checkpoint in the village of Mala Khel, where they checked the Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) of villagers, reportedly searching for government officials affiliated with law enforcement agencies (LEAs).

Simultaneously, another checkpoint was set up in Karandi by 8-10 terrorists, who also conducted similar CNIC checks.

During the operation, the militants abducted two individuals: Saad Ullah, son of Kiramat Khan from Karandi, and Shafqat, son of Hayyat Ullah from Mala Khel. Both men were forcibly taken at gunpoint and transported to an undisclosed location.

This latest incident brings attention to the increasing security concerns in Mianwali, a district bordering several volatile areas like Karak, Lakki Marwat, and Dera Ismail Khan. While local authorities have launched a search operation, the kidnapped individuals’ whereabouts remain unknown.

The abduction underscores the continued threat posed by Fitna Al-Khwarij militants in the region, raising alarm over the vulnerability of civilians and the ongoing instability in these border areas.
