The campaign of violence by Fitna al-Khawarij continues unabated in Bannu, with the latest incident claiming the life of a local police officer in a targeted attack.
According to sources, Police Constable Hayatullah Khan, who was deployed as a stenographer to the SP Rural, was shot dead near Gulbahar Chowk on CPEC Road while returning home from duty. The Khawarij assailants opened fire on him at close range, martyring him on the spot.
Police forces swiftly arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and launched a search operation to trace the perpetrators.
This is not an isolated incident. Just hours prior, terrorists from Fitna al-Khawarij had attempted attacks on police check-posts in Bannu, which were successfully repelled by security forces through timely action.
The targeted killing of Hayatullah Khan highlights the persistent threat posed by the Khawarij to law enforcement personnel, government installations, and innocent civilians. Security officials reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing and eliminating these violent elements to restore peace in the region.
