In a significant security development, four khawarij were killed and three Pakistani soldiers, including a senior officer, were injured during an intense exchange of fire in the village of Khui Bahara, located in the DI Khan district.

At approximately 09:00 AM, a team of 49 personnel from the 144 Special Platoon (144SP), led by Major Zohaib, launched an intelligence-based operation (IBO) targeting suspected khawarij hideouts in the volatile region.

According to security sources, the forces came under heavy fire from khawarij upon entering the area, sparking a fierce gun battle. In the retaliatory action, four khawarij were neutralized on the spot.

Three soldiers sustained injuries in the exchange, including Major Zohaib, whose condition has been declared stable. The identities and conditions of the other two injured personnel have not been officially released, though sources confirm they are receiving medical treatment at a nearby military facility.

The area has since been cordoned off, and a clearance operation is underway to ensure no further threats remain. Security forces are also working to identify the slain khawarij and uncover possible links to larger terror networks operating in the region.

This operation marks yet another success in Pakistan’s ongoing fight against militancy in the tribal belt. Authorities have placed the region on high alert and advised residents to avoid unnecessary movement as a precautionary measure.

Military officials reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating terrorist threats and restoring lasting peace in the region.
