In a blistering address at the Command & Staff College Quetta, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), tore into what he called the “inimical designs” behind the proxy war targeting Pakistan, and vowed to drive the nation’s fight against terrorism to its final and decisive victory.
While addressing student officers and faculty members, the Army Chief issued a clear and uncompromising message: Terrorism will be crushed in all its forms, and the enemies attempting to destabilise Pakistan, especially those sponsored by India, will be defeated on every front.
“The enemies of Pakistan will fail in their nefarious designs. Our national resolve is unshakeable, and our war against terrorism will continue until every last root of extremism is eliminated,” declared the COAS.
India’s Proxy Warfare Exposed
In an unflinching indictment of New Delhi’s covert strategies, Field Marshal Munir accused the Indian state of actively sponsoring terrorism inside Pakistan, warning that Pakistan’s renewed counter-terrorism campaign would not spare any facilitator, foreign or domestic.
He referred to India’s “increasingly dangerous propensity” to initiate unprovoked aggression, and its use of proxy actors to disrupt Pakistan’s internal stability, especially at a time when the nation is consolidating its counter-terrorism gains.
“We are fully aware of the foreign hands stoking chaos from the shadows. These proxies will be neutralized. This is not just a security operation, it is a battle for the soul of our nation,” he asserted.
Standing Firm: ‘Pakistan Will Never Be Coerced’
Reaffirming Pakistan’s military preparedness, the COAS made it clear that Pakistan will never bow to external pressure, be it in the form of kinetic aggression or hybrid warfare. He described the success of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos and Ma’arka-e-Haq as testament to the nation’s unyielding spirit and unity.
He also denounced what he called India’s “hydro-terrorism”, warning that water wars and unlawful coercion will further undermine regional peace if not checked. The Army Chief once again emphasized the urgent need for a peaceful, internationally mediated resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
Preparing Leaders for Future Battlefields
The Army Chief also turned his attention to the future of military leadership, encouraging officers to approach their duties with dedication, intellect, and passion. He commended the Command & Staff College Quetta for producing agile, innovative leaders ready to meet the demands of modern warfare.
“Our future battlefield demands more than courage, it demands clarity, innovation, and unwavering resolve. We must be ready not only for the battles we know, but those yet to come,” he stated.
Earlier upon his arrival, Field Marshal Asim Munir was warmly received by the Commander Quetta Corps and Commandant of the Staff College.
As terrorism once again attempts to raise its head—and foreign elements continue to meddle in Pakistan’s sovereignty—the message from the military’s top brass is loud and clear: Pakistan will not be threatened, and its enemies will be met with decisive force.
